In order to better serve the public and resolve the overcrowding issues during visitation the Henderson County Detention Center will adopt the following changes to the schedule for all Non-Contact Visitation.  Effective march 29, 2007 these changes will go into effect:

Visitors will continue to arrive during their appropriate visitation times.  Only two (2) adult visitors are permitted per fifteen (15) minute visit.  Children under eighteen (18) are not required to be placed on the visitation list; however, they must accompany the adult visitor who is.

REGULATIONS FOR CONTACT VISITATION

 

  1. The following is set forth as the standards for contact visitation at the Community Service Center. The schedule is defined in the table below. Family and friends will be able to arrange a visit Monday through Friday between the hours of 0800 to 1500 hours. The visitor must be on the visitation card before a visit will be granted.
  2. Walk up visits will only be permitted if there is a time slot available.
    • Visitors upon arrival will be required to leave all personal items in their car except for photographic identification, used to sign into the facility. No one will be afforded a visit without identification. Children under 18 are excluded from this rule.
  3. By agreeing to visit an inmate the visitor will be informed that at anytime their person and property are subject to search.
    1. Visitors agree that cell phones, tobacco products and drugs will not be brought into the facility.
    2. Visitors agree to a search upon request.
    3. Strollers and car seats are subject to search before entry. No toys will be allowed in the visitation area.
  1. When scheduling a visit the caller will be required to list the names and number of adults and children  visitors.
  2. Each inmate will be allowed to have a total of 2 adult and 2 children per allowed visitation period.
  3. The jailer at his discretion may monitor and record visitor to inmate conversations for security reasons.
  4. THE SCHEDULED HOURS FOR CONTACT VISITATION ARE FRIDAY 1500-2245 HOURS, AND SUNDAY 0830 TO 1715 HOURS.
